[0:00] What is BPC-157?
[0:08] BPC-157 is a synthetic peptide. It is a chain of fifteen amino acids derived from a fragment of a protein found in human gastric juice. It was first characterised in the 1990s by the Sikiric research group at the University of Zagreb.
[0:16] Almost everything published on BPC-157 is preclinical. The evidence base is rodent studies, mostly from one research group. Independent replication is limited. There are no published human randomised controlled trials.
[0:24] In the UK, BPC-157 is not a controlled drug. It is not scheduled under the Psychoactive Substances Act. It holds no UK marketing authorisation as a medicine. It is sold legally as a research chemical, for research use only.
