[0:08] Selank is a synthetic peptide. It is a heptapeptide, seven amino acids, derived from a fragment of an endogenous human peptide called tuftsin. It was developed in Russia at the Institute of Molecular Genetics.
[0:16] Most of the published literature on Selank is preclinical, conducted in rodents, and a large share originates from the same regional research base. Independent replication outside that body of work is limited. Robust UK or western randomised controlled trials are not established.
[0:24] In the UK, Selank is not a controlled drug and holds no marketing authorisation as a medicine. The MHRA does not assess research chemicals. It is sold legally only as a research chemical, research use only, not for human consumption.
