[0:00] What is Ipamorelin?
[0:08] Ipamorelin is a synthetic pentapeptide. It is a selective growth hormone secretagogue. It was developed in the late 1990s by Novo Nordisk and described in animal pharmacology studies as a ghrelin receptor agonist.
[0:16] The published literature is mostly preclinical. Rodent and primate studies report selectivity for growth hormone release in animal models, without the cortisol or prolactin elevation seen with older secretagogues. A small number of early phase human trials were conducted. Clinical development was then discontinued. There is no licensed Ipamorelin product anywhere in the world.
[0:24] In the UK, Ipamorelin is not a controlled drug. It is not scheduled under the Psychoactive Substances Act. It holds no UK marketing authorisation. It is sold lawfully as a research chemical, research use only.
